Halloween Dance Party-Thursday October 26 from 1:30pm to 4:00pm

Featuring the music of DJ Full Moon!.

We will be hosting our annual Halloween Dance on Thursday, October 26. Come boogie away to the Monster Mash and other Halloween favorites while munching on tasty refreshments. Please come in costume!!

Halloween and Harvest Luncheon-Monday October 30 from 10:00am to 1:00pm

Doors open at 10am. Costume contest at 11:30am. Lunch served at noon. Join us for a spooky Halloween event!! We will be hosting a costume contest and prizes will be given to the best costumes in the following categories: Overall Best Costume, Spookiest/Scariest Costume and Silliest Costume.
Participants will show off their costumes at 11:30am on the stage and the audience will vote on the best costumes for each of the above categories. Please dress appropriately for the festivities. Participants must be eating lunch that day.

We will be having Jaye Phillips, a city employee coming by to talk and see what you are interested in having in regards to support programs for you. Please start thinking about possible speakers you are interested in having speak and how we can better support you.

We will continue to have our special visitor of Starbucks coming on Friday’s from 10:00am to 12:00pm. They will be passing out free samples on new coffee to try. Along with that will be special treats that they will bring from the store.

Please let us know about any possible field trip ideas that you are interested in. We will have Barbara Crum here twice a week to help organize upcoming field trips. We look for- ward to your input.

Movie Day

There will not be any movie days for a while

Birthday Celebration

Third Wednesday of the month in the Multipurpose Room. Come and enjoy lunch while we celebrate your birthday with friends. Sign-up in the MPR during nutrition.

We will be starting new activities during 10:00am to 12:00pm in the MPR

  • Backgammon and Chess will happen on Mondays
  • Bingo will continue to be on Tuesdays
  • Card Club will happen on Wednesdays
  • Dominoes and Sudoku will happen on Thursdays
  • Movies will be shown on Fridays in the morning instead of the afternoons

Coming soon on Saturday October 14th will be our Village Fest hosted by Councilmember Sergio Jimenez. It will take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Village Oaks Shopping Center right across the street in the Safeway/Target parking lot. It is a free, family-friendly, public event that promotes the Village Oaks Shopping Center by connecting residents to our local businesses. The address is 5670 Cottle Road, San Jose CA 95123.

Happy Hollow Park and Zoo will be hosting their Senior Safari walkabout on Thursday, October 26th! From 9am—10am, seniors get FREE parking and FREE admission to the zoo for a chance to view the animals before the park officially opens. There is no time limit for exploring the park. Healthy Breakfast will be available for purchase. For more information, please call 408-794-6400

Approaching in the near future will be our first field trip in quite a while. It will be to Apple Hill-High Hill Ranch on Wednesday October 25th from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
The trip includes transportation, hayride on an old tractor, ranch style BBQ lunch and a craft show with 75 crafters for shopping. We will also have the opportunity to take a sip on some Apple Wine picked from the apple orchard. To attend please pre-register in person at your local community center or online at sjregistration.com
